Makoto Hanaoka, studentka drugiego roku o kobiecym wyglądzie, z łatwością przyciąga uwagę innych. Studentka pierwszego roku, Saki Aoi, nie jest wyjątkiem i zakochuje się w Makoto od pierwszego wejrzenia. Mając żywiołową i energiczną osobowość, nie waha się wyznać swoich uczuć starszej koleżance. Mimo to Makoto nadal ją odrzuca, ale determinacja Saki nie powstrzymuje jej przed oświadczeniem, że zostanie jego pierwszą miłością. Dzięki Saki i przyjacielowi z dzieciństwa, który jest przy nim, świat Makoto rozjaśnia się, dając mu siłę w zmaganiach między własnymi zainteresowaniami a oczekiwaniami, jakie na nim spoczywają.
